Drylok vs. Elastomeric Acrylic Roof Coat

OliveJewel Apr 24, 2010 02:50 PM

Here we go again! Sorry to beat this one into the ground... but... I was about to (really this time!) go to Lowes to get the Drylok when my dear husband noted that we have a full gallon of Henry 587 Elastomeric Acrylic White Roof Coating.

It says that it is "ponding water resistant" in addition to being made to expand and contract with the heat.

So... what do you think? It seems like a good choice. I wouldn't have bought that instead of the Drylok since the Drylok is less expensive ($20/gal vs $25/gal). But since we have extra...

Thank you for your input!

Well, I'm just going to go for it. I can't think of any reason why it would be toxic once it cures. Acrylic is non-toxic once dry. Plus there will be cork tiles over it.
