Nest Boxes??

John_Yezbak Apr 26, 2010 01:02 PM

Lots of nice posts on here with pics of females wrapped around a clutch of eggs. None of them are in a nest box though. Does anybody still use nest boxes? Or is that an 'old school' thing? I have always used them...even with my Burms. Just curious.

No nest boxes here, just had my 1st 2 clutches this month, boaphile cages cardboard substrate, both females went under the cardboard to lay, the 1st stuck to the bottom of the cage! Real good too! I had to use dental floss and very slowly work them loose, stressful! The 2nd came right up thank god! Got 6 more on the way!!

Thanks for the reply. The reason I ask is that it would be nice to avoid using them if it's not necessary. It's one more thing to keep clean and sterilized and it makes a mess when they dump moss or vermiculite all over the cage.
Simpler is better....hard to break old habits though.

Thanks,
John
