Albino and Sunglow ??

mikebell Apr 27, 2010 03:38 PM

I have a litter from a salmon het albino female bred to an albino male. My question is how to tell albinos and sunglows apart. I was told to look for a white or almost transparent ring around the saddles before the yellow ground color starts. Some are very obvious albinos and have the white band. Others that look much nicer don't have the band on the upper saddles, but do have a tiny bit of a band on some of the lowest saddles. Do sunglows have a slight bit of this white band on the lowest saddles? Thanks Mike

Nice looking litter Congrats !

The first picture are Albino's , all of them I believe

2nd and 3rd picture those are Sunglows

Sunglows will have a bit of that clearish, whitish ring
around the very last tail blotches.

Hope that helps

Thanks. I didn't know if a tiny bit of white on the end saddles indicated a regular albino or not. That was the exact answer I was hoping for. Mike
