I got my copy last night when I got home. I am 1/2 way through it. I admit bias for the subject matter but this is really good. If you have a cyclura I think this is a good book to have. Besides the history there are some nice behavior observations that may shed some light on what they do and why or what they may be thinking.Info that can be incorporated into your husbandry perhaps. There aren't nearly enough books on these creatures. This is one in plain speech, not all the scientific "big words" that make your eyes glaze over while looking for a dictionary. I recieved the book... I like the pictures alot. What happend to all the "hybrids" that turned out not being 100% lewisi? Were they destroyed?

they were fixed and allowed to live in the park. A couple were also used to test out the Salina reserve.

Joel, parenthetically, what effect if any does/did fixing have on these animals; anyone make note of it?

besides keeping them from breeding and dirtying the gene pool, I dont know.

There were only 3 hybrids released. One killed by a dog. 1 unaccounted for in the Salina, one still around.
Only pure blues in the park. No noted difference in these animals on the outside or behaviorally
