First Hot of the year!

jhnscrg Apr 28, 2010 06:19 PM

I was out biking my favorite trail today. It was really windy & a tad cooler than I had hoped for, so I had almost given up on getting any new pics. But on a whim, I tried turning over the flat bark that I had found the Flathead snake under last saturday. skunked on that, I just happen to flip one more log piece... To reveal the most beautiful BroadBandedXSouthern Copperhead I have ever seen. Perfect little gentlemen, he made no fuss as I took a set of pics, then replaced his log shelter.
Ok, I have forgotten how to do this, how do I post pics here? Must I go through Photobucket? I need help, sad to say, on this. I really want you guys to see this snake.
Oh, & YAAAYYYY My first Hot this year! Already beat last year, when the venemous population gave me the slip! Hopefull, an omen of good pics to come!

Sincerely,
Matthew

I use tinypic.com to post pics. Upload them onto the site, then copy the IMG code from the box labeled "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" and paste it directly into this forum's "Message" box that I'm typing in now.

Thanks! Is that a Crotalus scutaltus? Looks like a Mojave from here!

Sincerely,
Matthew

It's a Northern Pacific rattler - C. oreganus oreganus. It's the only species we have up here in the NW, but I'm going down to AZ to visit a buddy next week. Can't wait. Now let's see that copperhead!

Ok, gimme a day or two, gotta get the pics out of a new camera that does NOT have supplied software with my PC. That is the major roadblock right now. When I do get that fixed you can see all these Rough Greenies I've been finding too! LOL

OK! I found the software for the new camera ( it was gift, I didn't know where the CD was, but I found it!). Hopefully I'm on track now..
