This is my captive hatched male pastel that I picked up from Outback Reptiles.
I know it's not that exciting, but I have wanted my own line of pastels since I got into this, so it's exciting to me.

Plus, I have plans. Secret plans.

Is that pine shavings? Be careful, I used to use it for small boxes like yours, I let it air out a lot before using. I never had a problem. A large importer told me a horror story about using it and I switched from then on.

I like those boxes too. I have several hundred of the different sizes they come in.

It kind of looks like the aspen you buy from the big box stores, its a lot flakier vs shredded. I buy a few bags to mix in with my normal shaved aspen and my younger colubrids LOVE it. All of them burrow and hide in it.

I've only seen aspen shredded or chips. I never liked the looks of the chips, but lots of others use it. Mike

Negative on the pine. It's aspen.
