toffee/banana and strawberry cream

ladyboid Apr 29, 2010 01:24 AM

These are from two litters i have had this year. both are sharp strain.
The toffee coloured one is a sunglow but just look how hazy his saddles are.. very different to the other sunglows i had in the litter and the albino has the same colour on his saddles as he has all the way down! just like strawberry cream.
both of these have only shed once so far! i cant wait to see what they look like after a few more!

Thanks for looking

these are whats known to be or called chocolate sharp strain sunglows a friend of mine here in cincinnati DAN BROWN has produced them on a couple occasions and they do develope some amazing color after a year or so. regards

Hi there thanks for your reply, i was aware that the rich colored sunglows we produced were a little different looking with rich dark colour, almost chocolate and bananas ! and someone else had suggested to me that they were perhaps "chocolate sharp sunglows".

They were produced from a het that is a pastle with alot of red x with a het that is mostly orange tail hypo, i have checked Dan Browns site and old ads and it seems that his were produced from similar parents but cant find any more info, I would love to find out more on this variation, how and why they are different and some pics of older ones so we can get some idea of how they might look when they are older.

many thanks Kelly.

Those are beautiful! Congrats, and please post photos as they shed and grow. Very interesting!

Is there something genetic going on there, or were these suprises?

Thanks i am glad you like them
I am sure the chocolate/toffee colour is comming from the selective breeding of the c.A hypo and the rich colours of the pastle...
I could be wrong though!
should be intresting to see how they colour up..I will get some more photos of them soon!
