New Mexico Milksnake

kingsnake1 Apr 29, 2010 03:01 PM

Went out this morning to find my New Mexico Milk laying eggs. She has laid 6 so far, with probably 1 more on the way. Of course, she refused to use her nest box. Instead she crammed herself between the nestbox and the side of her container.

Thanks Dan Eby!!

Nice work, Greg! Mind if I ask how big the adults are? The last time I saw them was in Dell's snake room when they were a stocky 6" in length. Those Hwy 118 animals sure are nice - I can't imagine my collection without them.

The male is currently 56 grams and the female was 115 pre-egglaying. She is down to 79 grams since laying eggs this morning, but is eating as I type this. She has an excellent appetite. I am so glad I was able to get this pair.
