Can a hypo be called an orange ghost? Thanx C
They are sononymous, although they are now called hypos and a ghost is the double homo recessive hypo/axanthic.
Colubrid ghost is dbl homo axan/hypo but ball ghost ive seen seem to be single trait?
Yes for corns ghost = anery hypo viusal. For ball pythons this would be called "true ghost" as the term ghost refers to straight hypo. Orange "ghost" = hypo with orange coloration. But yes orange ghost is simply hypo no axanthic. I know its confusing at first but you get use to it.
There are several line of hypo genes in balls most are compatible.
Orange ghost
Green ghost
Extreme hypo
G1 hypo
Hypo
Butterscotch ghost
Yellow ghost
None of these examples have axanthic in them. Only the "true ghost" is double homo.
Hope this helps
