Question about rodent watering.

a153fish Apr 30, 2010 09:02 PM

Does anyone here have any ideahs to prevent tubs from filling up with the popular watering systems. I just had a tub full of rats (moma and babies) drown cause the nozzle got stuck some how and all the water emptied out into that tray. Other than replace that nozzle are there any tricks? I thought maybe drill a small hole at the back of the tub but it will just spill down to the lower tubs. Still this maybe better than losing an entire tub of rodents.

That's why I use water bottles for my 40 colonies of rodents. A lot of people that use the drip system with nozzles have that happen to them.

Two small pin holes in the bottom will help that.

I have a rack of twenty tubs for mice and I still use water bottles for them. I just thought I'd give the watering system a try for a new Rat rack I built. I am gonna try to adjust the nozzle and see if it happens again, and I may put a couple small holes too.

Too many damn troubles with those things. I just stick with water bottles as well. If they're not getting stuck open and drowning rodents, they're getting clogged or stuck shut.
