aboaslife May 01, 2010 10:47 AM

I came home yesterday and found this girl on her side the front part of her body was almost completely belly up. Last year i dont recall my other female laying like this. I have her ov as dec.3rd but am now thinking maybe that was a pre ov. She never had a pos. Q is, is this normal for her to lay like this?
1st pic is what i thought to be ov i couldnt get a good pic of her i didnt want to disturbe them at the time i never seen her swell up again and she did have a small swelling a few weeks prior this girl has got me scratching my head and wearing a hole in the carpet in front of her cage any thoughts??

and here is the pics from yesterday sorry they're not that great
dumb camera died so had to use camera phone its hard to see in the pic but her fromt end is real skinny and almost flabby looking and her back end is huge any advice??? thanks in advance

Totally normal, she's just trying to get comfy.

Only advice is to keep the baby rack ready!!

I had a female do that last year..check that the temperature where she lays using a laser temp gun, is neither too hot or too cold. Mine had a successful litter despite acting awkward like this, also she put on weight and went back to normal right away. Thought you'd like to know.

She looks heavily gravid from the pics. Once you start to see the lower third of the body near the tail starting to really get plump she is very close to dropping the litter. Good luck with your breeding endeavors. Wish you the best of luck with the babies. Cant go wrong with boas. Awesome animals!!
