I recently picked this male up just because I really like his look.

I really like this one. Do you have any ideas what you will pair him up with yet?

I have him in quarantine right now, but I do have a odd ball female that I did not breed this year, for some reason, and I think I may leave him be for awhile and eventually put her in with him, just to see what happens. I would then leave the female in my quarantine rack too. He looks clean, no mites or anything, no wheezing, so I feel comfortable putting in one female with him, maybe??

I really like his look.

Good luck with that boy. He could prove out to be quite interesting.

Very nice! I'm a big fan of broad dark markings, especially with any sort of hypo like gene you could throw in later.

I see some similarities with this project I'm calling Garcia. Some say the Garcia's look like chocolate but no breedings have been done to test that. Maybe you will not feel that your new male looks like them but thought I would pass the pic and info I have so far along just in case. Here is my original pet store female breeding a son Dan Garcia produced on a breeding loan proving her genetic. Picture by Marshall Van Thorre who is incubating 10 eggs now. There is another possible father (an Ivory Pastel of Marshall's) so can't be sure we have a shot at seeing the super this year but fingers crossed.

Nice additions Dave, both are interesting looking , good luck with them!

Randy I am a little confused here, does that male have something else in him besides what the mom is carrying as to me he doesn't look much like his mom? The coloration is totally different , the patterns are similiar but not identical either, guess maybe I'm missing something here??? Will be cool if you prove them out but it looks to me like there is 2 different things going on with that pair of snakes.

Its a possibility that the son has something more than the mom. His father was a dinker too and I'm trying to remember how Dan described him. I think I heard he tended to throw dark smokey babies.

There also has been a fair amount of variation in the babies she has produced so far that we think carry whatever she is with that son being about the most extreme. Hopefully getting to see what the homozygous version looks like (knocking on wood it's not lethal) should help a lot in figuring out what she is and if its the same as any other snakes like Dave's or one of the chocolate lines. The female was in pretty good glow in this picture so normally they look more alike and share some characteristics with what I'm seeing in the pictures of Dave's like rich brown and black with iridescence, broad dark areas fading on the sides, and faded back of the head. However the alien eyes are all over the place between the three from Dave's with almost none to mom with minimal to son with a granite like thing going on.

I like yours a bit better than mine, but who knows, mine might prove out to be something similar to yours, nothing at all, or something totally unique. I just like the clean pattern, and the burnt brown looking color.

By the way, your snake is on his way. I will shoot you an email with the pertinant info. When you get him, take a look at his belly! One of the more impressive Het Pied marker bellies ever!

Yeah, the pics are not too bad He has taken 2 mice already. I do not mind having a mouser male. Did you ever try him on rats? Nice shipping, the heat pack was still warm when I got him home

Thanks Dave, if your going to do it better do it right. That's how I look anything I do with my collection.

As for rats, I have tried with him many times and he acts like you were trying to poison him. I agree though, if you are going to have a mouser better it's a male. Keep me posted on those Embers and what you do with your new guy.
