Caught this guy yesterday.

a153fish May 03, 2010 08:35 AM

Found this big Corn sprawled out across the other lane on the way to work yesterday at dusk. If he would have been in my lane I probably would have run it over cause I was late. By the time I saw what it was I was already passed it and did a U-turn and snagged it before the next car got there. This guy would not have lived if I hadn't grabbed it, cause it was just sitting there soaking in the heat from the road. SPLAT....almost

Another nice find Jorge!! Pretty neat how the checkers on the belly kind of bronze out and fade into the orange towards the lower part of the body. From the pics you posted, corns in your area appear almost naturally hypo, or definitely have reduced black markings. I bet they would be nice to outcross into blood red lines.

Yeah Kevin. his reminds me of this female that was captured by a friend of mine by a toll booth in the Orlando area. Lots of red, while the black is fairly reduced.

Doug if this male I just caught looked as clean as that female you have I would definately keep it! Right now I think I will probably find a safe place to let this guy go. Even though he is pretty nice I have way too many corns and they make this one look ugly, lol. Still he is a pretty calm and friendly snake for a wild caught.

Yeah, I hear ya man!, it is pretty tough to simply keep things unless there is a definite reason to when you have lots of animals. I have been trying to thin out a lot of things that I no longer have breeding plans for too.

Glad the Orlando Repticon show is coming up soon on the 22nd and 23rd!

I usually have to miss all the shows cause I work Sat night and sun night and I have to sleep during the day. For the shows I do try to make I have to take a day off usually a Vacation day or just take the day off with no pay

Yeah this seems to be a not so rare find around where I live Kev. I'll probably let this guy go I have a few that look similar but better. Here is one that I really like.

Awesome Jorge!.....What a great snag(and outcome!) for you AND the snake!

They are so much prettier "in-hand", than DOR!

It might be wise to shotgun him or her with dewormer if you are adding it to your permanent collection. Two reasons, the first reason is to provent internal parasites contaminating your collection. The second reason is to reassure yourself that it will feed for you. Sometimes if a wild caught snake has worms, and the snake is exposed to stress, the parasites take over and could potentially kill the snake. Good luck.
