Hiding and climbing poll

Does your BP know it's not supposed to be arborial? Does it spend more or less than 50% of it's awake time climbing? Mine doesn't seem to be aware of the terrestrial snake classification and was actually resting in his tree after I fed him once.
How many hides do you provide for your BP? If more than 2 does it use them all? I have between 4 and 7, depending on the cage, in various temperature zones and the snakes seem to use them all in rotation. Very interested in feedback.

I have a young bp right now and he has 2 hides in his cage, one on the hot side one on the cold side. He uses them both but he spends most of his time in the one on the hot side. He also likes to climb some what but I think he prefers to just slither around the bottom over his hides.

I've only had my BP for 1 month now. It has 4 hides: 2 on hot side, 1 on cool side and 1 kind of in between. It mostly uses the coconut hide in between, other times the coconut hide on the hot side, never uses the half log on the hot side (except to climb on) and sometimes pops in and out of the stump on the cool side.

When researching BP's I remember reading a few times that "Ball Pythons don't climb", "no need to put in branches for climbing", etc. Whoever said that hasn't seen my little one. It loves to climb the branches. It likes to hang from the one over it's bowl and reach down for a drink or just coil around it. It also loves to climb up in the plants and just hang out. I love to see my BP wrap itself around the top of its water dish and just lay there.

I was about to say that this is the most my BP uses it's stump (cool side). Scratch that - it's been in there for the last 15 minutes. It's all snug in there with just the head sticking out. Guess it uses it more than I thought.
