I had bred a Lavender banded to a wild-caught Carlsbad striper, then kept 1.1 of the het lavender stripers (since sold them), but last year produced this nice male Stripe Lavender Cal King.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
On this project I just happened to breed the Lavender to a wild-caught Carlsbad striper (brown with yellow stripe).
If you bred the Lavender gene into the nice black with white stripers and then keep the best looking black with white stripes and then breed back....then I'm sure they could be Lavenders with a white stripe......unless the Lavender gene will discolor the stripe?

Male Lavender banded x female wild-caught Carlsbad striper.
I kept 1.1 of the stripers from this pairing that were het for Lavender (sold them last year).
Here are the 1.1 stripers (het Lavender).

Should have kept it.
I still have lots of different double hets that have Lavender in the mix on a lot of my projects.

Wish I would have bred the Lavenders into these Wide-stripers I used to breed.

i love the wide striped desert kings......not too many 'round nowadays either.....Shannon had a killer pair he sold off last year that I wish I could've snagged.
Looks like you mixed a little monocled cobra into them as well (hence the one on the right in the backdrop....LOL).
Awesome stuff man.......glad we have a Cal king pro going strong.....keep it going please......

The last two years (2009 & 2008) I've had minor heart surgeries during breeding seasons and didn't produce hardly anything. Hence I sold a lot of my breeders during that time, trying to reduce. I am down to less than 70 Cal Kings as of now. This year I have done a lot of breeding with hook-ups on ALL of my projects....so hopefully I will have some surprises in August/September.

You're welcome! I cant imagine anything to be "minor" about a heart surgery. But glad you're okay. It's really reassuring to see someone "specialize" in something, and Cal kings are no exception. You need to post a "photo tour" of your collection for us eventually....even a "modest" 70 Cal king collection can boast quite a bit of diversity.
