Tribute to Mom

Paul_D May 05, 2010 09:48 PM

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize my Mom. She grew up in a small city in Oklahoma, married my Father in college, and they moved to New York City so she could pursue an opera career. She always fostered my love of animals. Recently when I got my first BRBs, she helped me pick them out and name them. Although she wasn’t a snake person herself, she would show off pictures and lovingly refer to my snakes as her grandchildren. My Mother died on April 3rd of cancer. At some point I’d like to share some of her music, but in the meantime here are some pictures.

So sorry to hear about your mom. What town in OK was she from? For many generations before mine, my family was in OK and KS -- often in the small towns.

Hey Paul, so sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you had a great mom and I know you will miss her a lot. All you can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep her alive in your memories.

I'd like to thank you all for your kind words. I'm doing my best to try and celebrate her life rather than mourn her death. Everyday I strive to live a life that would make her proud.

Paul
