my ball just shed and there was a bit of blood on the tail end of the skin... is this something to be worried about?

I would not worry. I get them on my skins from time to time. If for some reason the vent does look irritated or infected than you could in time have a problem, but a little blood around the vent should be OK.

comepletely normal! for a little bit of blood after a shed. balls for some reason seem to do this quite often. more so than other snakes. regards
