You would get the following possible results in breeding a double recessive visual to a double het:
25% double het hypo trans
25% hypo het trans
25% trans het hypo
25% hypo trans
For more information about genetics there are great articles located at: www.newenglandreptile.com/care.html. Just scroll down to find the genetic articles.

so it would be the same as breeding a trans het hypo and a hypo het trans then
cheers
No. That would result in:
50% - Het for Trans and Hypo
25% - Hypo Het Trans
25% - Trans Het Hypo
I read on 101 dragons site that if you breed them together you would get 25% of each. have you tried that mix before
The way I figured it, you should get 25% chance of producing a double het, hypo het trans, trans het hypo or hypo trans offspring if you cross a hypo het trans and a trans het hypo. However I could have messed up the prunnet square...double recessive traits confuse me at times still.

Yep. You're right. You'd get 25% of each. I stand corrected.
so would it be better to breed a double het to a hypo trans or two double hets together in repect to the dragons health and genetics so i dont get dragons with 7 toes etc etc
Whether an animal is double het or visual makes no difference on the health of the dragon in general. What does make a difference is the genetic relationship between the dragons. If breeding brother to sister or mother to son/father to daughter...then you are limiting the 'genes' to a narrow pool...greatly increasing the chances of any harmful mutations being matched. If the parents of the dragons you are wanting to breed are also closely related...it just makes things even more likely to cause genetic related defects.
There is always a certain amount of 'line breeding' (the act of breeding parent to offspring, or siblings to eachother) when recessive traits are isolated. However a good responsible breeder, once he has proven a particular line, out breeds to unrelated animals to 'freshen' the blood.
Ask questions of the breeder you intend to buy animals from, ask if they are related, if the parents are related to eachother etc. This will give you a better idea on how closely related the dragons are to eachother, even if they carry the same recessive trait..either as a het or visual.
