Do you guys slit your hog eggs like they do for ball python eggs?I would hate for any to drown?!!?!

No need to slit hognose eggs. They do okay without any help. Don't be alarmed if they come out partially, and then go back inside the egg. I've had some do that.

Here is how I see it...
A strong, healthy neonate will have no problems hatching from an egg... If it does not make it out of the egg, it is not a genetically strong animal and should not be assisted... This leads to weak genetics being propagated into our captive stock...

It is survival of the fittest in nature and it should be no different in captivity...

Thats my opinion...

I think pipping is mainly a way for us to excersise our impatience... and impatient I am. With the clutch hatching out right now I pipped the last straglers today and found 2 D.I.E. but the other 2 started tongue flicking right away... It was worth it but I don't see it as necessary. I do cut just to see what the ones that don't make it look like.
