Here we go again Tegus in Ocala forest

Calparsoni May 09, 2010 12:30 PM

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but now they are screaming about tegus. Coincidentally I happen to LIVE in Ocala forest and I haven't seen any yet if I did I'd have caught them by now.

I seriously doubt the Tegu was intentionally released by a pet owner. If the Tegu did come from a pet owner, it probably escaped while on vacation with its owner. Tegus are too valuable and easy to sell to be released when no longer wanted. I doubt, though, that the Tegu's owner would reclaim it after all the media attention, but that would be nice to see if it did happen.

Another possibility is that the Tegu was released by an animal rights activist seeking more media attention.

In my opinion, the Orlando Sentinel is a scum rag which will sensationalize anything to sell its newspapers.
