Designating value of Cin/Fires,etc? PICS

RyanT May 10, 2010 02:23 PM

My first clutch of the year will be dropping in the next week or 2. It will be the result of a perfect male Fire bred to my female Cinny, whom I already believe to be a Vanilla Cinny. I've basically never seen any Fire Cinnies (or Burnt Cinnamons, as I've seen them called) offered for sale. Just wondering how I should go about determining their value. Base it on other more established Fire combos? Just a hypothetical question cause I'm bored and anxious to finally have some eggs this year.

Also, really can't wait to see if I end up with Fire Vanilla Cinnies (forget what they'd be called, haha) and whatnot, too. Exciting clutch.

Here's the female:

Here's the mother of the Cinny (and accused Vanilla) ovulating with her back in '07.

Sucks I sold her to Jen Harrison, as this female became one of the casualties of her collection that was wiped out by some type of virus a couple years ago, that apparently knocked her completely out of the hobby.

Can't help with your question but had to say your female is stunning. Love the iridescence. I'll be the babies will be really nice.

First wait until you get eggs and get any babies.
So many things can happen until then. May be you gonna get nothing at all, may be you gonna get 6 cinny burnt. Who knows.

It's way too early.

You might even want to keep them. I actually hope you do.

I think you are thinking too far before you think about making money. Unless that's your only goal (as a business, I can understand it).

good luck

....wait until you get the eggs through incubation and successfully hatched.....then you have to get the hatchlings eating and sex them.

THEN you can think about the $$$$$$. Too many people go through all this for the $$$$. These are live beings that you are responsible for, do the best you can for them while they are in your care!

It's actually not about the money at all cause I am planning on keeping them...I'm thinking of what a super cinny black eyed lucy will look like. Just a curious question about how to determine the value of something that's never on the market...just killing time.

Plus, value comes into play if you want to trade for something. What if you get a lot of males and don't keep them all. Value is good to know.

I don't think that female is a Vanilla Cinnamon, it doesn't have the head pattern of a Vanilla. I would send a pic to Chris, of Gulf Coast Reptiles, he has helped me out numerous times with identifying Vanilla's.
