This is very very odd....

ooanwfndglryoo Sep 22, 2003 11:58 AM

All of the pet stores around here are OUT of small crickets...My beardie is 3 months old and I have no crickets to feed her until my shipment from reptilefood.com comes tomorrow. What can I give her for food for today besides greens....I was thinkin maybe a couple mealies...

Thanks,
Justin

I would try a few mealies and some pellets. a day without crickets will not hurt your dragon even at that young of an age.

Sounds like a good time to introduce pellets and a salad! No big deal.

I'd definitely load her up with some meal worms and a combo of greens (kale, collard and mustard greens) Sometimes you can find some smaller crickets in the adult bins too if you check that out. She'll be fine if its just for a day.

I wouldn't give a 3 month old more then a couple mealworms.
No sence in risking problems for just one day.

Ask if the petstores have any waxworms (normally to high in fat to feed regularly but would be fine for one or two meals till your crickets get in), butterworms (fine as stable) or silkworms. Just make sure they are small instead of adult works as silks (and butters too I think) can grow to three inches long.

Cooked chicken or turkey can be offered if nothing else can be found.
