Pearls Revisited

RobM Sep 22, 2003 12:05 PM

I've watched with interest various pearl discussions. I have a pair of snows het for lav from richzski. Kept one of their kids a couple years ago that looked a little different. Came to loose all pattern and this year in breeding it to a pure lav confirmed this snake is also pure lav. So it is at least a lav snow, though perhaps also a blizzard (never know what additional good genes richzski throws in there!). It did not look like a
blizzard baby, however.
There was some speculation that pearl's were lav snows, and this snake seems to match past pearl descriptions (I think J Yohe had some). Don't know if that is helpful to anybody, but thought it might at least be interesting.

I don't know what the "original" Pearl was, but whatever that snake was, it's gone from the radar!

Someone may come up with a variation of Opal (or other cultivar) that deserves the Pearl name later on.

I bought an amel het Lav and anery 'A' from the patternless/colorless Opal line but have since decided I like the ones with lots of orange!
