STRYPO-BESQUES born today!! QUESTION..

STUART May 10, 2010 06:34 PM

I have a question about this. Is the name Stypo-Besque a name associated with any one mutation and cant be used for another? Just curious.

I bred an Arabesque Het albino to my Striped, Het SUPER STRIPED gene boa (which always throw stiped boas) and produced some Striped arabesques 50% poss. het for Super Stripe and Albino. Was wondering if anyone knows if I am allowed to call these strypobesques. Any how my camera is broken (2 year old) so I have to buy another, will have pictures soon! 15 LIVE 1 SLUG by the way.

Does the strypobesque name refer to one specific line of striped arabesques that someone breeds, or is it an open name to be used for striped arabesques in general?

That is a good question Stuart

The only stripobesque name usage I know of is by Toine in Europe.

I'm not certain if that's his "Line " name or just what he
calls a few of his stripey Arabs.

I have been under the impression Toine uses that term as a
descriptive term and not genetic Line name

We'll have to get Toine to chime in maybeb . . . . .

Hehehehe...sorry Stuart.

I just saw your post on KS... . . . . . . . . . . . . .

First off....Congrats on your litter involved Arabesque and
Stripe....I hope to see the pics of those little ones soon!

But no hurry...rest is a good thing the first days/weeks
in young boa.

As for the Name Strypobesque...i came up with that name because
the animal has Stripe, Hypo and Arabesque in it....
nothing claiming anything about it

The Name Strypo i came up with (a year later) when the same
parents gave me again a nice litter with Striped Hypo,s GEE-line in them,,,,
BUT no Striped Hypo Arabesque this time

i here (read on KS) from MR Jeff Ronne i *snagged* that name
from MR GEE and i am VERY sorry for that...
i think...yeah i am.!

STUART..
Enjoy your critters and show us the goods, in time

People its a HOBBY in life.....NOTHING to be NOT Happy about there

Be good Toine.

Hopefully I will buy a new camera soon and take some pictures after they shed. My two year old broke my nice fuji! But you know when you live with children you kinda expect those kind of things from time to time lol. Thanks for the answer.

The name "Strypo" was first used by Jeff Gee probably 7 or 8 years ago for some inverse tail stripe Hypos he produced. Last year or the year before, somebody in Europe snagged that name and used it on something completely unrelated. The "Strypo" part of the name implies half of a combination morph. As such a name was already used on a living already existing bloodline at least and maybe a "morph" rather than a dead unproven wanna be morph, I don't think the name should have been used once Jeff Gee used it. Professional breeder courtesy if you will.
