Snake Art

I saw a link to these amazing series of photos on another forum.
http://www.thisblogrules.com/2009/12/amazing-photographs-of-snakes-like_16.html

Some truly inspiring work and I decided to give it a try. I'm still not sure how to get a black enough background with the snakes directly on the floor so I decided to toy with White for now.

I thought for a while on how the photographer had encased all the snakes in a square to fit perfectly in frame without having to crop off parts of the snake. It almost seemed like his pkotos had round edges that kpt the snakes in a tight square. Perhaps some black fabric draped into a square opening.
I decided to use my Acrylic Display case stands and made a rectangle using two of them together. I dropped in some of my boas and tried to keep them all as low as possible to avoid harsh shadows.

Though not as shocking of an effect I liked the results thus far and am still exploring the idea but here were two of my favorites for now.
