While these people are giants morons who don't know snake species...I almost don't want them to know it's a Ball python...
Don't need them making the list.

"What is man without the beasts?
If all the beasts were gone,
men would die from great loneliness of spirit.
For what happens to the beasts,
soon happens to men.
All things are connected."

1) They make it sound as though Florida doesn't have any "large" (3-4 foot) snakes in their state, and anything that large must be a destructive python.
2) What did they do with the snake that was almost guaranteed to be someone's pet? Albeit, a moron's pet, but a pet nonetheless.
3) As a person who has never been afraid of snakes, I can't help but feel most of those people are being complete wusses. Heartless of me, I know, but still.

Amen. I'm not particularly fond of wasp, say, but I'm not going to freak out and call animal control on them.

4.2 Florida Kings

LMAO..That kid was the smartest one there...."it's probably someones pet"
JACK THE CAR UP, TAKE THE TIRE OFF, TAKE THE SPLASH GUARD OFF AND TAKE THE SNAKE OUT!!!! IT'S NOT THAT F#$KING HARD!!! OMG!!! How are we ever going to survive and get on with out day??? I just want to BASH these peoples face in with a tire iron!!
What a bunch of "knuckleheads"!
The Fish and Wildlife officer COULD NOT EVEN IDENTIFY THE SNAKE!!
The people that would be enforcing and are currently making the laws don't even KNOW what they are even looking at. What kind of ignorance must be involved for them not to make a correction by the time it makes it to the news.
I am in SHOCK.....wow, this is dismal to say the least.
I remember being a first grader and listening to my teacher talk about math. I stood up and said no, no, you've got it ALL wrong and I took control of the class and she sat down in my itty bitty seat and I taught the the class and dictated reality in her classroom. I had no idea what I was talking about but what does that matter. ONLY IN AMERICA!
The reptile Community has to stand and watch as first grade IGNORANCE takes control and dictates how we are going to live our lives, what pets we may keep, what happens to our businesses and what laws they decide make the best "sense".
OAFS
This is VERY HARD to take.....

Actually the comment about them not knowing it was truely a ball python is probably a good thing as they arent on the ban from what i've been told.

Kevin,
I LOVED that post!
I could have laughed....(if the truth did not make me feel more like crying.) It is unbelievable how pathetic our "system" has become. I could really picture you teaching that math class!
LOL. Great post man.
Take care,

...that their Burmese numbers in Florida are so exaggerated. Apparently if it doesn't have limbs in Florida it's a Burmese Python. If I were a quad-amputee living in Florida, I'd be moving out quick for fear of being labeled invasive & dangerous, I'm just saying.
