Mortar Mixing Tubs as Holding Tubs for Rats...

uf_g8or Sep 22, 2003 12:56 PM

Does anyone know if they make a mortar/concrete mixing tub that is approximately 48" long and 20" wide?? I've looked all over the internet but haven't had any luck. I remember seeing one that I thought was that size at Lowes but they don't have any more left.

I am planning on building a rack to hold my grow out feeder rats and would like this size tub. Anyone know where I can get them?

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've seen the one your talking about but it is'nt made like the smaller ones, it has ridges in the inside so they may be able to chew through it. If you have a Home Depot store in your area they should have them.

Yeah, I have bought a few that size myself. I'm needing the 48" ones though and have had no luck. Thanks though.

They had a larger one. I don't know the dimensions. I think it was about 48" X 30" or 32"?

www.tufftubs.com

they have 3 sizes of tubs available (same as the homdepot brand)

KMM 101 (Small) 28" wide X 20" long X 6" tall
KMM 100 (Large) 36" wide 24" long 8" tall
KMM 98 (Contractor) 60" wide 36" long 12" tall

i cant see what good a 12" deeep tub would be.. it would be almost impossible to feed the animals, and for them to get the feed from the top. Plus the weight of the rack itself would be insane.

However the "large" size would work well.. not too tall.. perfect for a "grow out" rack.. especially if you needed to get them to large adult size.

best of luck
