I found this is my pond in my garden yesterday. I thought we were rescuing him out of the pond but today he went back in. He is very friendly. Is it something I need to catch? or can he stay in the Garden? Just curious

Definitely belongs in your garden. They are wide spread but protected in some states, you should check with your local DNR before collecting.
