BRB breeding size/weight

basinboa May 13, 2010 10:29 AM

Hi people,

I'm a keeper/breeder from Brazil. I usually visit the Tree Boa forum more often than here.

I have a couple BRB that are 3 year old now. I plan to breed them but I'm not sure if breeding them at just 3 years old is a good idea.

The female has almost 2 kilos (4,5 pounds) and the male is 1,5 kilos (3,5 pounds).

Are they too young/light weight?
Would breeding interfere negatively in their final size if I breed them this year?

Thanks!

thanks!

they are pretty robust in comparsion to my WC ones. But their heads are smaller.
That's why I was considering giving them an extra year.

Agreed with Cliff, those are perfect age/size to start breeding.
