I applaud you for this as they are an enemy of anyone who has a pet of any kind. Thank you very much.....

Yeah, we'll see what comes of it.
It seems you really don't know and are trying to help [which you should if you ever want to keep herps]. Why don't you join USARK so as to be kept abreast of what is actually happening. There are scattered posts on these forums announcing new initiatives but are hard to find. By joining you will receive mailouts of news and efforts. There are many grassroots and bigger things going on eveywhere doing much of what you said would be helpful. You are just not aware. If you go to my website you may subscribe to USARK there with a link...thanks

Steph, go to the Burmese Python Forum and read the post on the 30 day extention USARK has managed to get on the Injurious Proclamation by USFWS. This involves many, many people all working together for a common goal. I knew this was likely to happen about a month ago BECAUSE I AM INVOLVED OTHER THAN ON THIS OR OTHER FORUMS. We need folks like you willing to work NOT post conclusions you may have. Please join USARK and get in the fight where what you do really counts and arm yourself with real info....thanks..Perhaps you could be a liason in your Herp Society. I'm giving LOTS of POSITIVE things you can do that will make a difference.....

Im not sure what your looking at and I do think its always a good thing to confront these issues (at least say something) but,
the large environmental and animal rights groups have established a position that is as close to being above the law as anything this country has ever seen. Peta for example has been heavily investigated by the FBI, the IRS you name it, they have openly given financial aid and supported domestic terrorist such as convicted arsonist Rodney Coronado. The guy the FBI once classified as America's most dangerous domestic terrorism threat. Not only do these groups get away with this crap, they throw it right in everyones face. Its a joke what goes on.
All the major groups..... Sierra club, Peta etc have a number of spin off groups to do their extreme dirty work. There are all kinds of cross over connections but they always skate. These are not everyday clubs with a bunch of wackos for members,

I have NOT heard back from the official that I had contacted ...this *may* indicate that someone is actually looking in to the "inconsistency".
Does this have to do with PETA? Why the cloak and dagger nonsense?
Discretion is not synonymous with "cloak and dagger nonsense".
Depends on who it's coming from. Turtles laying yet? Got snappers and painted turtles laying in my back yard, but I assume you're working with sea turles.
Eastern box turtles, actually. At least three of the females here are detectably gravid, the rest will be in a matter of days.
We had to do some rearranging in one section of the enclosure and in the process decided to till up a nesting area. One of the females is missing a hind foot and had difficulty digging due to the presence of roots etc., last year so the work we're doing is mostly for her benefit.
I have to relocate a small shrub and remove two others, then we should be good to go: we'll open the gate to the main pen and the turtles will be free to circulate in the improved 'annex' and have use of the full 1000 sq.ft.
