Hello,

I want to get my house treated for german roaches and black widows. I live in Las Vegas and have a bunch of little lizards in my backyard. Is there a chemical I can use that can accomplish killing the bugs and not the lizards. Or a ceratian type of company.

Ken

Not that I know of, but maybe you can consider bringing some of the lizards inside? House geckos, tokay geckos are both good choices since they come out at night and will otherwise be out of mind. All you need to do is to make wall station for them. A wall station typically consist of a large picture frame offset from the wall about a 1/2 inch with spacers and a bowl of water. Tape cardboard to the wall and bend it up to meet the bottom of the picture, this will catch droppings and can should be changed often. For the water you can screw a small tuperware container directly to the wall. Or leave some in a sink, or on top of a book shelf, etc. You will be suprized how little you see of them.

I think they are long tailed lizard, or another type of species in Las Vegas that is small and active during the day. I would really like to keep them outside. They are fun to watch on the brick walls in my back yard. I also have not seen this species in captivity and I am not sure on how well they will accimilate.

Well, I didn't mean it quite that literally, House geckos can be purchased in bulk for about 2.00 a piece.

Medditerranean geckos have been introduced to Nevada and probably occur in Las Vegas. I would catch a good number of them rather than introduce more geckos to your house/ area.

Good luck!

Yeah, Medditerranean geckos are everywhere, and they will work just the same.

Can geckos eat black widows, though?

depends who bites who first. Seriously, blackwidows will prey on baby lizards. I think the house gecko would win most fights however being smarter and faster. I would also recommend toads. Set out some pans of water and the toads will use them as litter boxes as well.
