alreynolds2003 Sep 22, 2003 02:18 PM

hello everyone,
my cham shed about a week ago. He has yet to get off the skin in front of his arms, but has gotten it off his head, but not behind the head. all along his upper back it shed, but now left behind is tiny bits of dry skin.... why? he has plenty of stuff to rub up against.

Sometimes there are just spots that are more difficult. Get a q-tip wet with some warm water and gently rub the spots. They should come off after doing this a few times. If not, use mineral oil instead.
Also, if you find that there are a lot of problem spots, try and increase the humidity during the week of shedding, this helps a lot also.

What's your humidity and what species is it? If your humidity is too low, this could be a problem. If your humidity is fine then it is just a few tough spots and do what chimbakka said with the q tips. Also showers, putting the cham on a plant and putting the plant in the shower for a half hour and letting the water bounce off the wall onto the plant (or directly onto if it isn't too hard) will also aid in shedding as well as help its hydration, keeping it's eyes clean and improve the general health. Hope this helps!
