Super Stripe 's 1st clutch attempt

anthony james mc May 16, 2010 03:19 PM

She has me stumped , I thought she ovulated 2 weeks ago and recently about half the time I peek in she looks like she's swelling up again ! Somedays she is back on the heat and today she's as far away as possible from the heat which seems odd as it's only around 88 F in rear where the heats' at so one would think she would be there almost all the time unless she hasn't really ovulated yet? Guess they all do different stuff!
Just hope she lays good eggs at some point, she was bred to a real nice Pastel Ivory I bought from Marshall Van Thorre and he bred this Super Stripe about 5 good times over the winter. I'm still trying to breed that same Pastel Ivory to another Super Stripe (bred 3 times or so now) and recently checking to see if one or two of my Whirlwind females are ready to breed yet. Fingers crossed she does ok , 1st time clutches make me bite the crap out of my nails!

Here's how she looks as of yesterday...

Also thought this one ovulated a couple weeks back too but based on what I am seeing today I think she is just now ovulating , that looks like the ovulation lump to me either that or she's ready to explode with those eggs! Based on what I am seeing here and the timing compared to how the Super Stripes been doing too I am starting to just kinda think the Super Stripe's just been building this whole time and she too is about to ovulate . That would explain why she's still on the cool end of her tub today in my mind... I bought this girl from Eric Sandoval, she's an 06 Sulfur Mojave . Sulfur is another type of Fire so she is like a Fire Mojave genetically speaking. This was also her 1st breeding attempt, never tried breeding her till now ,just figured I'd get her plenty big first before even trying to breed her!

Hey thanks, she was bred 4-5 times to my Crystal project Super Special male. I want to see what a Special Sulfur looks like even more than I want to see a Sulfur Crystal. To me the Specials are most like a subtle codom hypo and obviously that is what a Sulfur (another line of Fire) is as well another kind of codom hypo.. I know the 2 genes aren't alleles with each other but far as we know neither was the Fire and Vanilla and those were wicked results . Time will tell I guess ! Using the Super makes things like that easier to line up results..

I won't have a ton of stuff this year but what I will have should be pretty nice and some fairly rare! I'm more about making stuff not everyone and their brother already has. To me the numbers don't matter to me nearly as much as having stuff hardly anyone has or can make anytime soon! I get bored with the same ol stuff way to easily! Less is more in my mind and quality over quantity any day of the week is still king to me!
