Just wondering...

Is anyone aware of a documented case of anyone other than an owner or handler being bitten by an escaped venomous snake? Anywhere? Ever? (A reference would be nice.)

Side effects may include paralysis
and death but are generally mild.

There was a case posted here a while ago about somebody who(illegally) had a water moccasin or copperhead roaming freely in his house and got his girlfriend bitten. I can't help but wonder if they stayed together

Never heard about something like that in Holland.
