Feeding problems

zeus1228 May 17, 2010 12:49 PM

Hey,

So I received a baby boa about 1 1/2 months ago and she still hasn't eaten. I'm getting a little concerned, so what are some techniques i can try to get her to eat?

Thanks,
Stephen

Well,
we kinda need to know what you've tried so far and that'll help narrow it down. Also how big is the baby and what are you offering food wise? What size mouse, is it frozen thawd, live or pre killed?

She's small, but she is a caulker cay boa, so I'm not sure if she is unhealthy small. She fits into the palm of my hand and is about as wide as a fuzzy mouse. If you tell me how to post pictures i can put some up.

I've tried scenting with tuna and leaving it in the cage overnight. I'm going to try live tonight again to see if she will take it.

Get a live small fuzzy and a small paper bag. Leave them together overnight.

Everyone has their ways. This works for most of my non-eaters. After a couple feedings, the bag shouldn't be neccesary.
