amazing thing about Brazil being a third world country. it is still illegal to keep native species in a private collection.

The place is still like the wild west with murder and corruption everywhere. You would think they had more important things to worry about or enforce. But they do enforce the animal laws there. But if you rape or commit murder on the first offense you are out of prison in a short time (sometimes very short). only repeat criminals get longer sebtences and they have no death penalty. But keep a snake collection and you are toast.

A healthy stash of about $10,000 USD though will get you out of almost anything as a bribe.

Unfortunately animals are becoming a higher priority than humans all over the globe. Either way that was a trajic waste of snakes.
