Some pics of that yella thing I have....

Jlassiter May 18, 2010 09:41 PM

My first attempt at breeding her failed...She bred at least 3 times with a Refugio county male Holbrooki of Todd's......
She may be retaining the sperm until ovulation but I have backed her up with a Possible het for WhiteWall Holbrooki.....
She is starting to put on some weight but I have yet to feel follicles........My fingers are crossed.....

Check out the yellow speckling on her "raised" scales.......Pretty interesting snake, imho.....

Actually, i didn't notice it in the pic until you brought it up. Now that i took a closer look , that is weird. It is defective. Send it to me

The only place i recall seeing something even close was a Mole x prarie king. But even that was not as bumby as yours. Is this normal for the amels?

I have no idea.....I have had a couple amel Holbrooki that had normal smooth scales.....
This is the only snake other than an Angolan Python that I have felt raised / bumpy / beaded scales on.....

I wonder if it is genetic?
I wonder if it progressively got that way along with the white pigment turning yellow?
