red in poop

ooanwfndglryoo Sep 22, 2003 03:53 PM

my beardie just pooped out normal poop then it appeared to have some reddish stuff at the end of it....the reddish part seemed to be a clump of something or other....what could it have possibly been??

does he eat pellets? sometimes they will discolor the poop, otherwise it could be blood. you should get a fecal done to rule out parasites, blood is often a sign of a heavy parasite load.

she doesn't eat pellets and it doesn't look like blood. It looked more of a mass of pinkish grey colored material. I am unsure of what it is and I'm going to get a fecal done tomorrow.

yes, reiko may be right. blood in fecus will look pinkish and/or reddish and not like dark red, the color of dried blood.
