Basking light question

Vivarium Sep 22, 2003 04:00 PM

II really do not like the quality of light given off by regular incandescent bulbs, but I do not want to spend money on the expensive basking lights sold at the pet stores (which cost more and last only as long as regular bulbs). Any suggestions for an economical alternative to regular basking lights? Would spotlights yield a better quality light?

Try some different brands of incandescent bulbs. I find that the coating on some, make the light funny.
You can try spotlights, just watch the wattage and check the temps.
