Anery vs Charcoal?

JHM1987 May 19, 2010 07:13 PM

How do you distinguish one from the other? The sites I've looked at seem to mix the two together and have left me confused.

I THINK I have a charcoal. His eyes are greyish-blue instead of brown. However, he does have a bit of yellow coloring on his neck area.

Thanks!

Yep

Anery Type A aka Anery
Anery Type B aka Charcoal

However they aren't genetically compatible.

this is wrong !!!!!!!!
charcoals are less likely to have yellow and won't have as much but charcoals can have yellow

I didn't mean to post that previous post
It will probably get deleted

what I meant to do was provide this link
go here and scroll through all the charcoals and you will see quite a few with yellow

From what I understand of Anery type a and Anery type b...Type B has alot less yellow coming in as the snake matures..compared to type A. But there can still be a little along the sides of the head and neck.

The picture looks like a charcoal (anery type B) I have an Anery type A and she has alot more yellow than yours and she's not full grown yet. (little over a year now)

I concur, and think probably ghost. The borders look bronzey-gray rather than actual black. Definitely not charcoal.

MOST of the time, the iris coloration of an AneryA is the same as the ground coloration of that snake. Charcoals have really dark eyes. Their eyes almost look black.
