Mine is unquestionably typical Arizona affinis

I love bullsnakes. I've had 2 and both were/are so tame. Also being that I am from the midwest, I like that they're in my area. I also like snakes that have beefy heads.

New Jersey traceable Northern Pine! I love my Pines!

Affinis-so much variability but have to be put second by the Deserticola. I like them all, but never have had any pines, I am sure they are about as sweet as everyone else in the family.

normal, attractive bullsnakes. no morphs!!!

I hear ya, I shy away from morphs also...
Tough call as I seem to like them all. I've found over the years that I hold back more of what I seem to like best, with all of the species I'm working with. With that being said, my favorite must be jani since my group of breeders is ever growing.

Bigger, meaner, rarer, hot.
I love my WhiteSided Bull..
I have all 3 types(Gopher, Pine, Bull)
They are all awesome..
They're all cool, but I love Northerns the most!

Third Eye
it is hard to beat a big gruff northern pine. A classic mugitus can be quite the looker! It is so entertaining to be walking along a path and come upon a big fat lazy sonoran gopher, but then again when I take out our massive male jani we get a lot of "oooo's" and "ahhhhs". The biology of the island forms is extremely interesting, and who would pass on the opportunity to catch a glimps of a wild Ruthven's pine or Loding's pine? I have some great childhood memories of interactions with wild bullsnakes. Finally having the line-necked Latin Am. pinesnakes in captivity is actually quite cool...
Ok, you got me. I can't play favorites I dig them all!

I hear you on the entire genus John but if there was that "must have" Pit among all Pits, is there one among the three major types that you could not live without (not that you have to)?

My favorite bull snakes are the Kingsville red x Stillwater hypos, of which I have a great pair of 09's. Here they are watching me start the fire in the wood stove this morning. Of all my pituophis, they are the most personable, showing a real interest in activities in the room. The other day I took Alfonzo out to feed him by hand (he is very gentle) and he snagged the mouse out of my fingers so violently I thought it is time to start using tongs, then he buzzed his tail at me and acted very much like his shy sister, and then I realized this WAS his sister, and that she had for the first time ever been hand fed, albeit a bit scary for us both! LOL!
My other pits are Pacific gophers, and I like them, too, even the silly little steam escape sput sput babies.
That black pine posted by JSI11, I would not say no to him joining the family!
I really like the pines so I might lean ever so slightly in that direction however if forced to keep only one sp or ssp I know I wouldn't be happy. Maybe gibsoni because of the continued challange. But only for that reason. At some point I will get too old to maintain the collection I have and I figure that I will probably keep animals based on them being already in the collection until they die of old age...
Aye!
No where near the experience you have John but was thinking about the same thing and that's why I haven't responded yet.
