He's Back

DiNew May 21, 2010 09:45 AM

I lost my baby Kingsnake back in October 2009. He escaped his cage the day after a meal. I searched everywhere and as the months went on I considered him gone. Well he's back. He surfaced in my patio yesterday after 7 months. He has grown and looks pretty well although I can see some dried recent blood on his mouth. Is there any suggestions what to put on him or should I just take him to the Vet for a checkup. He escaped out my doggie door.

No need for a vet. Sounds like he got injured and it will heal. Main thing is to get him hydrated and offer him food. If he eats all is good.

If you aree really worried about the injury then disinfect it with a drop of peroxide. But i would offer it a meal or two first.

Thanks for the advice. He apppears pretty healthy and I did get him some water. Not sure if he was living outside in my patio/garden where there is plenty of water as I water all day or if he was in the house to whole time and just ventured outside. He he can only speak and tell me about his adventure! I am just happy that he is home.
