Marko1 May 21, 2010 08:25 PM

Had a litter on 5/5/10. Cant seem to get my babies to eat. Even tried live. Any tricks? Just want to make sure they will be ok for a a while with out food. Also some haven't shed since then. When should I worry? Thanks for your help.

Since they need to use yoke in their belly-- Shedding is a good 1st landmark, but it could be a week or two after the 1st shed. What is the temp and what are you feeding?

Temps are at 92 hot and 80 cool during the day and 85 hot and 78 cool at night. I have tried both mice pinks and fuzzy mice. Both F/T and Live. I think they may just be spooked. I'm going to leave them alone for a while. As you can see in the picture they are Healthy. ( I will post pictures of all 16 after they all shed ) Thats more important. Mybe just need time. I worry to much, but have to admit I have never produced or seen albinos like this and want to make sure they healthy stay strong for our future Hope all is well with you and your season! Thanks

I had a litter of 24 on 4/30 and only 2 of them have eaten so far. Still waiting on 6 to shed. I haven't tried live yet and I'm not too worried. Just going to keep offering f/t every 3-4 days for now. A lot of them still look like they have full bellies and aren't skinny yet.

Glad I could help, and I will definitely keep you posted. Waiting for these last stubborn ones to shed so I can post group pics of what they're looking like now.

Here's some info I copied and pasted directly from The Ultimate Boa Constrictor Care Manual (read the second paragraph):
