What does the ventral area (bellie) look like? The bands on scarlet snakes do not encircle the entire body, where as the scarlet king's does. If the ventral area is all solid color, white/cream it's a scarlet snake. Steve
It is in fact a scarlet snake i did research on them and the belly is white, its got the pointed nose, and has the typical orangish band after the head followed by white ones.... It is a nice looking snake but is a scarlet snake.
Yeah the belly is the key. I have had a few of those and they are extremely difficult to get them to eat. I would just release it, they are not worth the trouble imo.

you can put a raw egg in a bowl and it may "eat" by drinking the egg the way a snake would drink water.
