Seemed like a good night, but it stopped raining too early in the day for salamanders to be very active... Regardless, I found some cool stuff!

Plethodon montanus
This one had to be a hatchling, it could easily fit on a penny! Amazing how i saw it...

Many of these guys were crawling around tonight (of various sizes) as usual.

Notophthalamus v. viridescens
My first eft of the year! This one was also small, ~2cm. Always great to see!

A decent size Nerodia sipedon. Easily over a meter in length. Got some cool shots of it.

I wish the flash did not white-out the snake in this one... Still cool

Ambystoma maculatum larvae

These guys were everywhere in the pond. Got to watch them feed on some little bugs, awesome!

There were also numerous adult red-spotted newts, various tadpoles and Pseudotriton ruber nitidus larva in the pond.

One larges Pseudacris crucifer female found in the pond. A few males were calling in the area. Still have not found any peeper eggs or larvae before. Maybe this year?

Hopefully next time I will be on the north side and get some shots of Plethodon yonahlossee.
