Breeding Suggestion

kevinvs May 23, 2010 04:43 PM

I was just hoping to get some opinions on what you guys would do in my situation.

I finally have a female ball python large enough to breed and I am wondering what direction I should go in regards to what male to pair her with. I have a spider, lesser platinum, pastel yellowbelly 50% het albino, an albino, and a normal. All the males should be within breeding weight for next season.
The female is a normal and currently weighs in at 1400g (hoping she puts on at least another 100g before the next season). What would you guys try to pair her up with if given the opportunity?
This is gonna be my first attempt at breeding and I am planning on getting rid of all the babies with maybe an exception of one if it really stands out to me. Thanks for reading!

i would go with the spider or the lesser
Then you would get visuals the first breeding hopefully (at least with the spider)

"Better bang for your buck" would tell you the spider or lesser! However, the Pastel/Yellowbelly would give you more options! You could produce Pastels AND YB's, hope for girls, then breed them back to the spiders and lessers! BTW, forget the 50% het for Albino part! That'll get lost in the shuffle and you can just as easy make 100% hets since you have an Albino!

I second that.
