Terry Cullen defense fund and assistance

goini04 May 25, 2010 05:40 PM

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I read the below thread regarding Terry Cullen, and while nobody within that thread mentioned taking such action, it has been seen in various capacities facebook, and other sources, where "individuals" are supposedly "raising money" for Terry Cullen's legal defense.

It is important to note for the safety of your own wallets, that Terry Cullen is ONLY working with Robbie Keszey at this time in regards to defense in his situation. While there is still very much a cloud of dust surrounding this incident and much to still be sorted out...before you make the jump to throw money towards a legal defense for Terry, please be aware that ONLY Robbie Keszey has been authorized by Terry for any type of initiative like this and that is IF and ONLY IF, necessary. If anyone else you find, is supposedly raising money, please do yourself a favor and do not donate.

If and when such a time may occur, Robbie Keszey will make it publicly known to the herp community, at which time, if you wish to assist and donate money, you're welcomed to do so.

Another important note: I do NOT hold a particular opinion on the situation at this time. I'm aware of some various information, that was only partially covered in news media, and beyond that...I will await full detail from police reports, etc. before making a personal opinion or judgement.

With that being said...at this time, it appears as if the police are still gathering further information. If it is taking them this long, I would have to say that there really isn't much to the initial allegations.

Again, before you make any true judgements or attempts to help...please be aware of the full details, at least as much as possible.

Best regards to all,

Chris

I don't know him or for sure what happened. But I do think if the sexual assault allegation was true we would have heard way more on that rather than just hearing about the reptiles again and again.

There was a similar thing that happened with that religious group in West Texas. Someone called in a sexual assault complaint and the State went in and started taking the kids out and away from the parents.
I am not saying that I agree with what that group does but the sexual assault call was made falsely by a women from another State.

Being as it would cause the law enforcement agencies to go running in before they had any real evidence as evidence is not needed in an sexual assault charge to get them to go in like bulls in a china shop. I feel this may be a tactic now being used by the AR groups.
Again I don't know for sure but since they have not said a peep more about the sexual assault it makes me think maybe it was false. Also I think to the article claiming that people with big snakes feed them and while the animal they feed them is being killed they masturbate.
Kind of looks like they have resorted to the old sexual predator accusation to get people against reptile keepers.
The bad thing about this is you will never know now if it is true or not if they keep doing this.
It is just too easy to keep people from supporting you and or get the law after you by just saying you sexually assaulted someone.
But yes, we need to think before we leap here and we need to know more about the person behind the accusation or else more about the accusation period for that matter.

I do find it strange that they would not allow any video of the reptiles to document what they found. I would have thought it would be standard procedure to get documented proof it they were in bad conditions like they said.
I feel all herp keepers need to start taking video of there herps and keeping procedures and make copies of the film and keep it in several safe places so if they take your stuff and try to claim it was in bad conditions or shape you can at least provide a video that shows the truth. We should also put more video on U Tube that shows proper keeping and cleaning procedures so that people at least have a chance to see reptile keepers in there true light. A picture says a thousand words.
