snakekate May 26, 2010 08:24 AM

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could answer my question...rather simple. I have a male and a female columbian boas, the male is het for stripe, the female were fairly sure is normal. Both are very fine looking and so we would like to breed them, what would could the out come be, and any other info on BCI genetics would be fantastic! thanks!

Offspring should look like the parents unless female is het. for stripe. In that case some will be striped, some het. striped, and some normal.

You would have a bunch of normals 50% possible het stripe

they will all be normal boas poss het for stripe im assuming you are reffering to pete kahls stripe line? that is! there are other stiped line boas and unless what you have is co-dom for example like jungles they will just be normals with the possibility of being het for stripe! hope this helps

I'm not sure what strain he is from actually, is there any ways to tell? And is there any way to tell if he's co-dom? He has really nice coloring I'm hoping he will pass on to a few babies...the female is similar coloring to him but a bit more black and grey...anyways I'm trying to learn as much info as I can about BCI genetics and such so any info is greatly appreciated thanks
