Most of the BCC are said to have a slow metabolism and I have found that to be the case. However, I am currently raising a pair of baby Surinames that act like retics-lol. They are fed proper food items for baby suris but are always hungry, deficate two days after eating, and shed every 3-4 weeks. Their colors are awesome and they are growing like weeds and appear happy and healthy. I noticed these ones are a lot more active and move about more than my other boas.
If your boa does not have mites I would not worry about the shedding. Bill

Afrocks-the dark side of the Dark Side.
The thing to worry about most often with excessive shedding is mites (or other external parasites). I'd look him over thouroughly. You may want to treat the enclosure and soak him even if you don't find anything.
