I've had this pair together since December and I haven't seen any action, she shed about 2 months ago but didn't record it unfortunately, kinda embarrassed to say that. Well I noticed on the 21st that she had some swelling going on, and I've been checking her and she seems to be getting bigger everyday, Could she be gravid and I missed the ovulation? is this a pre ovulation swell or possible an ovulation? I'm more knowledgeable on Blood Pythons but figured I'd try my pair of BRB's that I love so much.

This pic was taken on the 21st, the male seemed to keep close to her and when I put them in this container to clean their cage he was riding ontop of her and seemed to be courting her

This was taken a few days later on the 24th

And this one was taken tonight on the 26th and the male was on the opposite side of the cage but I've seen them like that before

Thanks for you input
Zack

Wellll, could be but I don't see anything clear one way or another. While courting, the male is clearly on top - dominant. Assuming you did not feed her, that could be pre-ov swell or ovulation, dunno for sure. I did catch two clear ovulations this year and in both cases the female shed 16 days later. So, wait and see...

Thanks Dave, no she hasnt eatten so I'll wait and see, I have a feeling it's a pre ovulation swell nd not the actual ovulation but just wanted to get input since it's my first time attempting BRBs. It's interesting to see how the signs on breeding bloods are simular but different, they swell up all the way to the tail before they give their true ovulation. here's a pic of my female this past season while building folicules and she laid eggs 31 days POS

And to keep it on topic, here's my female brb at 3 months old

Thanks

Cool, will be interesting to see how long before she sheds. Somewhere around 06/16 I'm thinking
